I’ve heard ‘from an anonymous source’ that Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) is being treated for dementia. That surely explains his bizarre behavior of late.
I was flabbergasted to see – and hear - Senator Reid, the Majority Leader in the Senate, during a live session from the House floor, accuse a fellow member of the Congress of committing a federal crime by not paying income tax for ten years! Not only a fellow member, but the Republican presumptive candidate for the presidency of our great country, Governor Mitt Romney. When asked about his source, Senator Reid would not give details. This was in addition to a previous unfounded attack on Governor Romney, calling him a “felon”!! Can you imagine that??!! Senator Reid had best study well the laws which apply to defamation…and then learn to keep his ‘anonymous’ information to himself.
Incredulous at his statements, I investigated further. I found one interview he gave the Huffington Post in which he stated that Karl Rove and the Republicans are planning to have a breakfast the day after the election: …”they’ll assemble 17 angry old men for breakfast, some of them will slobber in their food, some will have scrambled eggs, some will have oatmeal, their teeth are gone. But these 17 angry old men will say “Hey, we just bought America…wasn’t so bad. We still have a whole lot of money left.” What a despicable little ‘gollum’!
Here’s more: In yet another Huffington Post interview, Reid called William Magwood, member of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, a “liar” and “first-class rat”. As if that wasn’t insulting enough, he added “tool of the nuclear industry”, “unethical” and “incompetent”. This tirade because on June 8th, the House, in a 326-81 vote, passed an amendment to an energy appropriations act which would fund $10 million to be used by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission in funding a Nevada nuclear repository at Yucca Mountain. This site was picked in 1987 by the lawmakers for our nation’s nuclear waste. But, after more than 10 years…and $15 Billion… President Obama and then U.S. Energy Secretary Steven Chu abandoned the idea. The trade group Council for Citizens Against Government Waste, via their president, Tom Schatz, lauded the House vote as a win for U.S. taxpayers who are “shouldering unnecessary fees” tied to nuclear waste. This amendment was offered by U.S. Rep. John Shimkus, (R-IL), chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Environment and the Economy. Last year, he said the decision by Obama to scrap the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste repository was illegal. However, the amendment will probably meet its demise in the Senate because Majority Leader Reid is a staunch opponent of the facility.(Ref:UPI International/World News&U.S.News)
My personal opinion is that Senator Reid has become an impediment to the progress we need for our country…even his own State of Nevada has an unemployment rate of more than 12%, they are third in home foreclosures – what is he doing for them? Even his re-election was clouded, to say the least. It’s time to put little Harry out to pasture!!!!!
